Contrast Recovery

Cold, hot, and genuine resilience.

Primal Contrast Recovery harnesses the power of cold- and hot-water immersion to drive recovery, metabolic adaptation and genuine mental resilience. Built on our Primal Contrast Therapy method, the session lets you choose the lane that matches your level and your goal — so there's a way in for everyone, from first-timers to seasoned cold-water athletes.

Why it works

Three reasons it works.

Recover faster

Contrast immersion is one of the most effective recovery tools available — flushing fatigue, easing soreness, and getting you back to training sooner.

Activate cold adaptation

Cold exposure switches on the body's cold-response system, driving metabolic activity and building resilience to stress over time.

Build mental resilience

Learning to stay calm and breathe through the cold is a trainable skill that carries far beyond the water — into how you handle pressure everywhere.

Who it's for

For everyone — because you choose your lane.

Everyone — because you choose your lane. First-timers and those recovering from training start gently; experienced members chase the deeper, longer work. Whether you want a reset after a hard session or a serious cold-adaptation challenge, there's an entry point that fits.

Choose your lane

Choose your lane.

  • Reset — short cold sits with frequent warm contrast. The ideal entry point for first-timers and for recovery after hard training.
  • Rhythm — interval-based rounds that build your cold tolerance steadily, round by round.
  • The Sit — sustained immersion for those ready to do the deep metabolic and mental work.

What to expect

Inside a session.

A guided session in the cold and hot pools, coached around the Primal Contrast Therapy method.

  1. Brief & breath prepSettle in, learn the breathing, choose your lane.
  2. Contrast cyclesCold and hot immersion structured to your chosen lane, coached throughout.
  3. The methodSlow exhalation on cold entry, submerging to activate the body's natural responses, and always finishing on cold.
  4. Natural rewarm & recoveryRewarm through the body's own response rather than rushing to external heat, and settle with a complimentary hot yerba mate to close.

Good to know

Questions, answered.

I've never done cold immersion — is it for me?

Yes. The Reset lane is built exactly for first-timers. You go at your pace, coached the whole way — you're never thrown in the deep end.

Why finish on cold?

Finishing on cold lets the body rewarm naturally through its own response, which is part of what builds the adaptation and resilience this session is designed for.

How is this different from a cold plunge at home?

Coaching and structure. The breathing, the lane progression and the method are what make it effective and safe — not just bracing cold water.

What should I bring?

Bring your swimmers, water, a towel, and a change of clothes for afterwards.

Is there anything to finish?

Every session ends with a complimentary hot yerba mate — a traditional South American herbal tea and the perfect way to close a recovery session. It gives smooth, sustained energy and focus without the coffee jitters, is loaded with antioxidants, and is traditionally valued for supporting metabolism and immunity.
